The Canadian brewery brings its most famous beer and its vintage dark ale
to Ontario
Chambly, December 2, 2013 — This year for the Holidays, beer connoisseurs in Ontario will be able to enjoy Canada’s finest ales, lovingly crafted by Unibroue’s master brewer.
“I’m truly happy to see our finest products being offered by the LCBO,” says Jerry Vietz, Unibroue’s master brewer. “These two beers have garnered numerous awards around the world, and it’s only fair that we share them with our neighbours in Ontario.”
La Fin du Monde just arrived on shelves and is a new full time listing at the LCBO. La Fin du Monde has earned more medals and awards than any other Canadian beer, including some of the world’s highest honours. This Belgian-style Triple ale with creamy white foam and fine bubbles has a floral bouquet, with hints of honey, spices, coriander, malt and alcohol. La Fin du Monde is a well-balanced beer with a pleasantly long finish, perfect for pairing with blue cheeses, mussels or venison.
The 2013 Vintage of Unibroue 17, also hitting LCBO’s shelves in November, is a limited release of this exceptional beer, first bottled at the end of 2007. In 2010, it was recognized as the World’s Best Dark Ale at the World Beer Awards, in England, amongst over 500 beers presented by 27 countries. This rich Belgian style ale has a roasted malt nose, with a hint of sweetness and a subtle oaky finish.
From its very first competition over 20 years ago, and every year since, Unibroue has stepped up to the podium among the best beers in the world, in numerous international events. Its continuing success can be attributed to the consistent quality and constant innovation consumers have come to expect from this home grown brewery. Unibroue is one of the most rewarded Canadian breweries at the World Beer Awards.
